The BlackBox OBD2 is a revolutionary new Android application which turns your
Android equipment into a powerful multipurpose Event Data Recorder, EDR. When
BlackBox OBD2 is in service, similar to the Black Box on airplanes, if any
traffic accident occurs, it will collect and record information to help
determine what the vehicles were doing before and during the event.
BlackBox OBD2 performs very high quality and reliable video and audio
recording. If your device has a GPS, it will also record the real-time GPS
coordinates along with the video to provide much more precise detailed video,
audio, and location recording than a typical EDR.
In addition, BlackBox OBD2 can connect to the ET9000 4C Head up Display (from
ATBS Technology Co.) through a Bluetooth interface and record important
real-time vehicle information, including vehicle speed, engine RPM, fuel
consumption rate, engine load, battery voltage, engine coolant temperature,
This ability to record video, GPS and engine data makes your smart phone become
a most unique and powerful EDR.
With standard Android hardware, it records the following data:
* Video and Audio
* GPS location, speed, and altitude
* Calculated distance traveled
With the ET9000 hardware interface to OBD2 engine info, it supports the following:
* Recording and displaying vehicle speed, RPM, load, throttle position, air
flow rate, intake air temperature, intake manifold pressure, water
temperature, fuel pressure, battery voltage
* Displaying diagnostic codes
* US or Metric units
* Video recording quality
High quality:480 x 800
Low quality:320 x 480
* GPS update frequency
* Video storage location
* Storage space used
* Items displayed on screen
